Sell Things You Have at Home AND a Special Guest!! You can easily make money at home without even having a skill, an experience, a job or an employer. Some things you have at your home are for you and your family to use now or in the very near future. Some things are for keepsakes. Some things should be tossed. And some things, well, should be sold - and some of those things that should be sold can actually turn you a pretty penny!! Old textbooks and books can be sold online - it doesn’t matter how old or what “topic”. Enter the title, author and date published onto your PC and get a quote. Try websites such as decluttr. (Please note that even libraries buy back old books.) The same can be done for old records, CDs, videos, DVDs and other old video/audio items. (Also, try the website decluttr for these items too.) What about furniture that is sitting around your house, in your basement, or in a storage unit you are renting? You may have inherited or bought antique furniture. There is also not-so-antique furniture that has been in the family for a generation or two. There is furniture that was inherited or left behind by some great aunt or favorite old neighbor or some piece of furniture that reminds us of when we lived in a certain home or in a certain town. In my case there’s the Singer treadle sewing machine my mom had when she was growing up and I learned how to sew on, my mom’s bedroom dressers, her kitchen table, the old Antique farmer’s table that Tom and I bought together shortly after we were married as an antique already, and the “Happy-Two” Chair that all us kids and grandkids used growing up when we were all two years old. In your case you may have things from your living room, den, office, baby’s room, kitchen/dining room, or bedrooms. There may also may also be, as in my case, a lot of things like mom’s dishes, silverware or servingware, tablecloths/napkins, bedding and others, that you can sell because others would want to complete their unmatched set or they might find to be an interesting match to their current display of goods. Another area of saleable items in your house is jewelry which can also be antique, generational, heirloom, or just worth selling but not worth keeping or giving away. I have several, if not quite a few, costume pieces of jewelry that are worth selling. Today I am joined by a very dear friend who has advised me on my investments. Meet my own trading Teddy! Today Teddy has 2 investment ideas for me. Holly Energy Partners - the Stock Ticker symbol is HEP. In a nutshell, HEP has had 55 straight quarterly dividend increases. It currently has a dividend yield of 8% and has a strong long-term growth plan in place. NOTE it is a trading stock and he suggested to me a limit buy order at 29 and once bought at 29 he told me to put a sell order at 32. He said this is a “rinse and repeat process”.
Next, he suggested to me New Residential Investment - the Stock Ticker symbol is NRZ. He said it has a stable dividend, good return on equity (ROE), current price of 17.57 with analyst price target of 20, currently yields 11.33%, and Investment Company Raymond James on October 5, 2018, gave NRZ an outperform rating. Please note this DISCLOSURE - I CURRENTLY own shares of HEP and I may initiate an order to buy NRZ in the next week. “Life is 10% what happens to us, and 90% how we react to it.” Charles Swindoll
